Jesus of Suburbia celebrates one of the most iconic American bands of our time, Green Day. The rock band is known for infusing the raw power of punk with melodic pop sensibilities and relatable lyrics to capture the anxious restlessness of American teenagers in the late 20th and 21st centuries. In addition to other Green Day elements featured throughout the evening, the evening will focus on numerous American Idiot hits that follow the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a lower-middle-class American teenage anti-hero. . The album expresses the disillusionment and dissent of a generation that came of age in a period marked by tumultuous events such as 9/11 and the war in Iraq. To accomplish this, the band used techniques unconventional to themselves, including transitions between connected songs and long chapter-based creative compositions featuring the album’s themes.
Jesus of Suburbia, presented by Michael Anthony Theatrical, will perform The Green Room 42 on Friday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are on site now at www.TheGreenRoom42.com.
