Step into the recording studio with the cast of INTO THE WOODS

The cast recording was released for the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of the New York City Center Encores! production of Into The Woods by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim on streaming and digital platforms worldwide. The entire album is available to stream or download HERE.

The CD will be released on December 2, followed by the vinyl on March 17, 2023.

Delphi Borich, Felicia Curry, Jason Forbach, Alex Joseph Grayson, Cameron Johnson, Paul Kreppel, Mary Kate Moore, Diane Phelan and Lucia Spina are stunt doubles.

Sean Patrick Flahaven, who spent 25 years working with Sondheim in various musical capacities and was a producer on dozens of cast albums, including 12 Grammy-nominated ones, produced the recording, with Rob Berman as co-producer, Jordan Roth as executive producer and Lear deBessonet as associate producer. The album was recorded by Lawrence Manchester, Isaiah Abolin and Ian Kagey; mixed by Kagey; and mastered by Oscar Zambrano.

Into the Woods, the first Broadway show of the 2022/2023 season, debuted to rave reviews July 10 at the St. James Theater. This production is produced by Jordan Roth, president of Jujamcyn Theatres, directed by Lear deBessonet (in his Broadway debut), and features musical direction by Rob Berman with The Encores! Orchestra and choreography by Lorin Latarro. Into the Woods is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Sondheim. The show previously announced that it will run one last time through Sunday, January 8, 2023. The current cast includes Stephanie J. Block as Baker’s Wife, Sebastian Arcelus as Baker, Montego Glover co-starring as The Witch with Patina Miller, Krysta Rodriguez as Cinderella, Gavin Creel as Cinderella’s Wolf/Prince, Joshua Henry as Rapunzel’s Prince, Ann Harada as Jack’s Mother, Ta’Nika Gibson as Lucinda, Annie Golden as Mother/Grandmother/Wife as Cinderella, Albert Guerzon as Cinderella’s Father, Brooke Ishibashi as Florinda, Kennedy Kanagawa as Milky White, David Patrick Kelly as Narrator/Mysterious Man, Katy Geraghty as Little Red Ridinghood, Nancy Opel as Cinderella’s Stepmother, Cole Thompson as Jack , Jim Stanek as Steward, Alysia Velez as Rapunzel. The Into the Woods creative team includes Tony Award winner David Rockwell (Scenic Design), Andrea Hood (Costume Design), Tyler Micoleau (Lighting Design), Tony Award winner Scott Lehrer & Alex Neumann (Co-Sound Designers ), James Ortiz (Puppet Design) and Cookie Jordan (Hair, Wigs and Makeup). Casting is by Telsey & Co. with production supervision by Cody Renard Richard. Justin Scribner is production manager.

Into the Woods premiered on Broadway in 1987, winning three Tony Awards, including Best Score and Best Book. It has since been produced around the world and was adapted into a major film in 2014. This production marks its first Broadway run in 20 years.
