Bombay: Bandra Police on Tuesday recorded a statement from debutant actress Sanjana Sanghi regarding the suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sanghi worked with Rajput on his latest film ‘Dil Bechara’.
According to police, it was deemed imperative to check Rajput’s behavior and mental state in the days, months leading up to his suicide on June 14. As part of the investigation, Bandra police called Sanghi on Monday, to help them with any information about the behavior of the actor who died while filming the film.
Meanwhile, police are probing all angles, which was widely discussed on social media hours after news of Rajput’s suicide surfaced on the internet. Abhishek Trimukhe, Deputy Police Commissioner (Zone 9), called on citizens not to entertain and spread rumors about Rajput’s suicide, as they could be misleading and hinder the investigation.
A police official said that so far more than 28 people have recorded statements related to Rajput’s suicide, including his parents, staff, roommate, rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, director Mukesh Chhabra and casting director YRF Shanoo Sharma.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police will be recording Director Shekhar Kapoor’s statement in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.
