SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Del Soul is the latest recording studio to open in Sioux City, and its founders said their singular mission was to provide a sanctuary of sound in their new downtown location. .

On the second floor of the historic Frances Building is the latest installment of Sioux City sound.

Four friends came together to create Del Soul, a place where artists of all levels can come and express themselves through their music.

“I don’t care how extravagant you want to get. As long as you’re having fun and loving your craft, we’re here 100%,” said Del Soul CEO Ramon Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, a native of South Sioux City, said his education in audio engineering at Western Iowa Tech gave him the skills to build a professional product.

“They gave me the fundamentals that I lacked. I love music, it’s all I am and will be for the rest of my life and they really gave me the tools and the opportunity to better understand something I love” , González said.

Gonzalez said he moved on but could never leave Siouxland for good, and explained why he wanted to bring this service to his community.

“It wasn’t my home, and the Siouxland area is, so I just want to give back and say I appreciate the opportunity she gave me and the comfort she gave me as well. “, González said. .

Gonzalez said the origin of the name “Del Soul” comes from his passion for the work his team does “from the soul” and that the main inspiration behind starting the company comes from his late parents.

“I wouldn’t say it came from nothing, but they’ve had a lot more trouble than me, so who am I not to take advantage of these opportunities to show them that I listened and cared. and this is all for you, for my family,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said Del Soul’s clientele continues to grow and hopes to one day expand its creative services to include artists from across Siouxland.
