MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Music in Myrtle Beach is about to make a major breakthrough, says a local songwriter working with a brand new recording studio.

Arcadia Studios opens its doors to Seaboard Street and offers high-tech resources to accommodate a wide range of art projects.

“We wanted to offer something more to the community than just a recording studio,” said Patrick Richardson. “We wanted to make sure you didn’t have to travel out of town to Atlanta or Charlotte to access professional services. “

These services include everything from recording music to photography, videography, editing and more.

Darryl Cherry said they have clients representing all genres and wanted to create a space that can help Myrtle Beach musicians to the next level.

“Investing in people will pay off more than investing in more money,” Cherry said. “And I always felt that way. So invest in the city of Myrtle Beach and its people and its arts and music scene and its creative side.

A member of the Myrtle Beach music scene, songwriter Chris Muti, is already hard at work in Arcadia. He’s working on a song called “At the End”, which will be the first single from local band Pawgy and the We’Ah.

“The music that we produce, we try to tap into something that’s a little old, a little new, but we call it a rebirth,” Muti explained.

Muti is originally from New Jersey and has lived in Myrtle Beach for about a year. He’s been writing songs since he was a teenager and is back in the studio after swearing to stop listening to music.

“I just felt like, man, if this doesn’t put food on the table and if it doesn’t benefit my family then it’s not worth doing it,” Muti said. “But I wanted to give music one last chance. And really pursue my dream of writing songs and sharing music with the world. “

That’s what he does, with his best friend by his side, who is also a songwriter. Muti has high hopes for the future of musicians along the Grand Strand.

“I think the music scene here in Myrtle Beach is about to explode,” Muti said.
