One of two men on camera breaking into a Staten Island recording studio and shooting a 23-year-old to death was arrested on Tuesday, officials said.
Charles Brooks, 29, has been charged with 11 counts, including second degree murder, assault, armed robbery and criminal possession of a weapon in the January 16 shooting that killed Jahade Chancey, according to police and court records.
A spooky video showed the moment the two gunmen burst into DemonLow Studios on Van Duzen Street and opened fire around 7:45 p.m.
One of the men holds an assault rifle as he rings the doorbell of the house, classified as a recording studio.
Several shots rang out before the two armed men fled.
Police said Chancey was repeatedly punched on the back after opening the door. He was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Brooks was held without bail with a June 10 court date.
The identity of the second shooter has not been disclosed.
