Warriors’ Jordan Poole puts on a show against Suns tonight as he records 15th straight game with 20+ points

The Golden State Warriors host the Phoenix Suns tonight for their final game of this regular season. After leading 2-1 against the Suns on Christmas Day, the Suns went wild. They’re 35-8 since Christmas, while the Dubs are a below-par 21-22.

Tonight through 3 quarters. Dubs trail Suns 77-75. Despite committing 14 turnovers in the first half, the Warriors are still in the game, mostly because of their defense. The Dubs maintain the best team in the league at just 36% shooting from the ground.

Offensively, there has been a bright spot for the Warriors, and his name is Jordan Poole. He has 28 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and is shooting 6/11 from deep. Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson are the only other Warriors in double digits, with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Jordan Poole records his 15th consecutive game with more than 20 points

Since the start of the 2021-22 preseason, the Warriors have seen the emergence of Jordan Poole. After spending a lot of time in the gym this past offseason, Poole has shown he’s worked on his weaknesses and looks like a better player in all areas. Poole was the second option behind Stephen Curry until January, when Klay Thompson returned, and Poole had to come off the bench. His points dipped for a month and a half, but JP caught on.

Over the past 15 games, Jordan Poole has averaged over 20 points.

Stephen Curry was injured 6 games ago, and the Dubs have been 1-5 since. While the others have been inconsistent and struggling, Jordan Poole has been the one consistent bright spot for the Dubs. As can be seen tonight, every time Poole went to the bench, the Dubs attack was in trouble.

The only player on the team who made them that way was Steph. I guess we know who his successor will be.
