Former Malaysian rock band Spider bassist found dead in recording studio
Former bassist of Malaysian pop-rock and ska band Spider, Tony Iskandar Alberto, has died. He was 51 years old.
According to The starTony was found dead at the Luncai Emas recording studio in Sungai Buloh, Selangor early Wednesday morning (June 30). Her body was discovered by Spider member Nafie, who had come by the studio to retrieve items.
The recording studio is owned by veteran singer Mr. Nasir. Its production manager Mohd Khirin Omar (aka Keon) said Tony has been living in the studio for three years.
“Datuk Mr. Nasir had prepared a piece in the studio for Tony to compose his composition,” Keon said. The star.
“Nafie came by yesterday and knocked on the bedroom door. With no response, Nafie used a spare key to enter the room and found Tony dead.
Other than Tony, no one else was in the studio at the time of his death, as Malaysia is currently stranded by a new wave of COVID-19.
Paramedics who were called to the studio confirmed the musician’s death, Keon said. According to paramedics, Tony had died about four hours before his body was discovered.
His remains were then taken to a nearby hospital in Sungai Buloh for an autopsy. While the cause of death was not immediately known, Keon said Tony suffered from diabetes. Harian Metro reported that Tony’s remains tested negative for COVID-19.
Tony was buried in a Muslim cemetery in Sungai Buloh on July 1. Luncai Emas, the label that owned the studio, shared messages of condolence for Tony as well as updates about his funeral on his Facebook page.

Spider frontman Tam Mustafah called Tony’s departure a big loss for the group.
Tam said he met Tony two days before his death and Tony gave him an unexpected apology for any past wrongdoing.
“My friends and I know about the health problems he suffered from. That is why we have constantly kept in touch and monitored his condition. Two days before he left, we met to feed him and pray together, ”Tam said. Utusan Malaysia.

Despite Tony leaving the band in 2012 due to health concerns, Tam said the bassist remains close to the members of Spider.

Tony was a founding member of Spider, which formed in 1996 and went on to release six studio albums, starting with their debut album “Ngam Ho” in 1999.
