Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebration continues with the upcoming release of “Game Girl,” a new song by Island Def Jam artist Louane, who recorded it exclusively for the upcoming compilation album P25 Music. With its fun and infectious tune, the bilingual song describes the journey we all take in life with a friend or partner as we discover what’s good for us and how to be the best version of ourselves. It was written by Louane for the occasion, composed and produced by P3gase and mixed by Josh Gudwin.

The vibrant official video for “Game Girl” shows Louane surrounded by larger-than-life colors and settings meant to transport viewers into their vivid imaginations influenced by the ever-changing world of Pokémon.

“Louane is an exciting addition to the growing list of talented artists around the world who are helping us celebrate Pokémon 25 years,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “’Game Girl’, with lyrics in both French and English, is not only an incredible pop anthem for Pokémon trainers, but also represents Pokémon’s global resonance with international fans. “

“Pokémon was one of my earliest childhood memories! I fell in love with Ash at first sight! Louane said. “I didn’t hesitate at all when I was asked to join the P25 music program. It was really inspiring to have the opportunity to write a story based on what I experienced as a child.

Louane is the most recent artist to join the P25 music program alongside UK singer Mabel and US artists Vince Staples and Cyn, who all released original tracks earlier this month for Pokémon 25: The Red EP. . Artist EDM ZHU remixed these tracks for Pokémon 25: The Blue EP. The program also features Katy Perry, who contributed her original song, “Electric,” Post Malone, who put her own stamp on Hootie & the Blowfish’s hit “Only Wanna Be With You” and J Balvin.
