Performance professionals:


Performance professionals include everyone who makes a recording or live presentation possible.

This includes the main star when there is one, all the supporting musicians and vocalists, and the many staff members managing the details that don't work out.

Protagonists:


When most of us think of the music industry, we think of beginning artists who sing or play instruments to create music that moves us.

Support for artists:


Supporting artists are vocalists and musicians who provide additional musical support for the lead actors. They provide the musical accompaniment for solo artists and sing backing vocals, but are not considered the main attraction.

Support staff:

Business professionals include everyone who handles money and deals. While accountants and lawyers are involved in this part of the industry, they are generally not included, as their profession extends to work with many other industries as well.

Key business professionals include publishers, producers, and managers.

Producers:

Producers put all the elements together to create a music recording or live performance.

They search for new artists or hire existing stars, select songs from a publisher's catalog best suited to the artist's skills, select and manage musicians and technical support staff, create contracts and project budgets to present to record companies , and are personally responsible for completion and delivery of the project.

Roles and activities involved in the music industry process:

Composition:


Songs, instrumental pieces and other compositions created by musical writers or composers, therefore are their property even though they are often sold.


Recordings:
